Wikis

I am generally technology ignorant so other than wikipedia I have not used a wiki or needed to for that matter.  After reading the suggested articles and some Google searching you can see that despite the lack of attribution issue I can see it could be a useful tool for class exercises or a group project.  I cannot see myself using a wiki but that does not mean that i never will and given some of the new technologies that are being developed like augmented reality and sixth sense i may not get the chance, it was still interesting to read about what wikis are all about though.

Set up your own blog

Well I just finished my first blogger post, setting the blog up was not difficult as the instruction to follow were well set out.  Although I rarely use any social networking tools I don’t tend to have problems learning how to operate them when I do and I generally find them to be user friendly.

I have never used a blog before in fact I have never had a facebook account or used twitter or any of the other forms of social media that is out there.  It’s not that I don’t know how to use them they just don’t interest me, that might make me a bit of a dinosaur but I do have an interest in palaeontology so that fine with me.

how do i find time for this

This is not going to be easy I am rarely at my desk for more than half an hour at a time, but I have allotted time on Tuesday morning and if that does not work out I have a backup slot on Friday afternoon.

I do not have any real strategies for doing these things in regards to getting groups together because of the 5 of us doing this we are only all together for this week.  I also think that I learn better if I work things out for myself, this of course could change as I have only used 8 things on the top 100 tools for learning list, but I am confident that i will manage.

my goal is to expand my knowledge base of Web 2.0, it is not something that I have a lot of interest in but they are a necessary part of my current studies and who knows I maybe converted.
